Lunar New Year 2026 — Greenwich Peninsula
Event highlights from Lunar New Year 2026 at Greenwich Peninsula — a vibrant programme of performances, activations, and cultural experiences across the estate.
Brief
Greenwich Peninsula commissioned Vivid Squad to capture their Lunar New Year 2026 celebrations — a large-scale public event held across the estate in London SE10, bringing together dragon dances, stilt walkers, live cultural installations, street food, and community experiences.
As Greenwich Peninsula's preferred event videographer in London, our brief was to produce a highlight film that could do two things simultaneously: convey the scale and spectacle of the day, and preserve the intimate, human moments within it. Every event has energy that photographs and words alone can't fully communicate — that is precisely what video captures.
Coverage was commissioned to work across multiple channels: social media cut-downs for Instagram and TikTok, a longer highlight film for digital marketing and future event communications, and photography assets for press and on-site use. All footage was delivered with fast turnaround to meet post-event publication windows.

About the Project
Lunar New Year 2026 at Greenwich Peninsula was one of the estate's most significant cultural activations of the year — a full-day programme featuring dragon dancers, stilt walkers, live music, food vendors, and interactive installations spread across multiple zones on the Peninsula.
Our approach as event videographers on the day balanced two distinct visual modes: wide environmental shots that captured the scale of the venue and the breadth of each activation, and close, handheld, in-the-crowd coverage that brought the energy and spontaneity of the day to life on screen.
The dragon dance sequences were shot with multiple angles — including low-angle ground shots and elevated positions — to give the edit a dynamic range of perspectives. Stilt walker coverage tracked movement across the estate, requiring reactive camera work to stay ahead of the action while keeping compositions clean.
The resulting highlight film was structured to open with the most visually arresting imagery — establishing Greenwich Peninsula as a landmark London event destination — before moving through a narrative arc that followed the programme chronologically. Cut-downs were adapted for 9:16 vertical format for Stories and Reels, and 16:9 for YouTube and website use.
Vivid Squad serves as Greenwich Peninsula's primary on-site production team for events and activations throughout the year, with an ongoing content partnership that covers planning, logistics, and multi-channel delivery.

FAQ
Common questions
What type of events does Vivid Squad cover in London?
We cover a wide range of events across London — from large-scale public activations and cultural festivals like Lunar New Year to corporate launches, brand events, and private occasions. Greenwich Peninsula is one of several major London clients we work with on an ongoing basis.
How quickly can you deliver event video content after the shoot?
For social media cut-downs we typically deliver within 48–72 hours of the shoot. Full highlight films are usually ready within 5–10 working days, depending on the length and complexity of the edit. We're used to working to tight post-event publication windows.
Do you produce both video and photography at the same event?
Yes — this is one of the most practical reasons clients choose Vivid Squad. We can deploy a combined video and photography team under a single brief, ensuring consistent coverage without the coordination overhead of managing two separate suppliers.
Can you create platform-specific cuts for social media?
Absolutely. All our event projects include social media cut-downs as standard or as an add-on. We adapt footage to vertical 9:16 for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and Stories, as well as 16:9 horizontal for YouTube, LinkedIn, and website use.
Do you work with event venues and property developers in London on an ongoing basis?
Yes. Several of our clients — including Greenwich Peninsula and British Land — work with us as their primary on-site production team across multiple events throughout the year. If you run regular events or activations in London, a retainer or content partnership may be a better fit than one-off bookings.
